(Lunch in the Old Town of Bar, Montenegro)

Cuisine of Montenegro for many centuries it has absorbed the traditions of Italian, Hungarian, Turkish and Austrian cuisine, but the basis has remained unchanged. Montenegrin food itself is divided geographically: the coastal zone, where fish and seafood are mainly preferred, and the northern part of the country, where meat and dairy dishes predominate. It is also worth noting that Montenegrins love healthy food - their herds graze all day in the meadows and no one irrigates the land with chemicals or fertilizers. Therefore, the food here is environmentally friendly and healthy.

Here is a basic list of what you should definitely try in Montenegro:

1. Prosciutto (dried-smoked ham) and cheese from Negushi

One of the most delicious national dishes of Montenegro is smoked ham, or locally called – prosciutto. Prosciutto is eaten with bread and cheese, as well as some fruits.
