The name of this city is Zabljak <\/strong>(see on Montenegro map<\/a>) - although it seems funny to Russian ears, it has nothing to do with toads \ud83d\ude42 (the emphasis is on the first syllable). Although some people like to invent all sorts of legends, such as - "in ancient times there were always a lot of toads around this city."<\/p>\n

Here you will not find the ruins of fortresses, monuments or amazing architecture, however, coniferous forests, clean mountain air and green meadows with grazing sheep will undoubtedly help you relax your body and soul.<\/p>\n

Zabljak is located in Durmitor National Park<\/strong><\/a> at an altitude of almost 1500 m above sea level and is considered the highest settlement in all of Europe.<\/p>\n

A bit of history<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 1870, when the city received the name "Zabljak", the construction of a school, a church and all the infrastructure began. However, during the Balkan wars, all this was destroyed, except for the church. But by 1880, Zabljak had become an administrative center and a market, where merchants from nearby villages and even from the coast gathered. Gradually, the city began to attract visitors from the then existing Yugoslavia and even from far abroad - Italy. However, during the Second World War, the city was burned to the ground. After he recovered and began to function as a ski resort. In this cave, due to the constantly melting glacial water, a whole cave lake is formed, around which stalagmites and stalactites grow.
\nWell, in winter, go to the ski centers Yavoravcha, Savin Kuk and Stutz<\/strong>. There you can rent the necessary equipment, and if you don\u2019t know how to ride, professional instructors will teach you how to do it. The tracks are divided according to the degree of difficulty - for craftsmen, for beginners and for children. There are several lifts; some trails are illuminated even at night, so you can ride until late in the evening.<\/p>\n

If you are tired of the monotony of a beach holiday on the coast, then you certainly need to come here to enjoy the fresh air, organic products and natural beauties of this wonderful mountainous place.<\/p>\n
