The city was famous for its shipyard and the best naval school, where Russian princes and boyars, sent by Peter I, studied at one time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/monteonline.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ekskursia_vranovo-brdo_perast.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6623 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/monteonline.ru\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/ekskursia_vranovo-brdo_perast.jpg\" alt=\"Hiking tour to Raven Mountain, Perast, Montenegro\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Climbing the Voronya Gora (\u201cVranovo brdo\u201d, height 744 m above sea level) passes along the old Austro-Hungarian road, which will lead us to the abandoned village of Glogovac and the Catholic Church of St. John of the 15th century (here you can try to guess the inscription in Latin, carved in a stone opening!). Passing by picturesque groves and giant stone heaps, we will have stunning views of <a title=\"Bay of Kotor\" href=\"http:\/\/monteonline.ru\/guide\/boka-kotorska\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bay of Kotor<\/a> and the Verige Strait. Ahead of us is the majestic fortress of St. Andria, built by the Venetians in the 15th century. The fortress served as a border point with the Ottoman Empire; after a long period of neglect, the fortress was again restored and fortified by the Austro-Hungarians in the 19th century.
