We love visiting cemeteries. Do not think anything bad, it's just that whole eras are reflected there, like in a museum. It seems that they are saturated with the fate of people, the history of the people, shrouded in some kind of mystery.
We often drove past one Kotor cemetery, but we thought that it was just a complex of churches. But they seemed to us a little unusual, because. among them, for example, stood a small building with columns-statues in the Roman style. And today we finally found time and went to explore this complex. There were three churches, there was a cemetery and crypts around (in general, everything you need for a horror movie lover 🙂). That little pillared building turned out to be a family vault! But the most interesting thing is that this cemetery reflects the history of the last century: only Germans are buried in one part of the cemetery, which indicates the period when Montenegro was occupied by Austro-Hungarian troops during the First World War; in the other part, mostly Italians are buried, which indicates the period when Yugoslavia, which then included Montenegro, was occupied by German-Italian troops during World War II. After 45 years, mostly Serbian names are found on the graves. The cemetery itself, of course, is very different in style from our Russian one. In general, look!
