Budva, Montenegro (see on Montenegro map) –, the main town of the popular tourist Budva Riviera, is a vibrant and alluring resort, renowned for its endless sandy beaches, old town, and the most vibrant nightlife on the Montenegrin coast. Well-developed infrastructure, numerous beaches, and close proximity to shops and tourist attractions make Budva an ideal destination for a family vacation. In Budva, you can easily find accommodation in the private sector, from modest studios to luxurious apartments and villas.

So, let's start with the most important thing - this is, of course, beaches in Budva! Finely pebbly, almost sandy beaches in Mogren bay, as well as wide “Slovenian beach” can accommodate thousands of vacationers – and for fans of peace and quiet there is the beaches of the island of St. Nicholas – is the very same island located directly opposite Budva. – is also known locally as "Hawaii." – The large-pebble beach is surrounded by boulders that seem to have crashed onto the shore as a result of some cataclysm. – The clear sea, cafes, and sparse crowds will allow you to completely escape the hustle and bustle of the city. A water bus departs every half hour from Budva's main promenade to St. Nicholas Island in Budva.

За этим утесом скрывается пляж Могрен - выйдите из старого города, пройдите по пляжу и теперь по узкой дожке у подножья горы - пройдите мимо знаменитой балерины, у которой все фотографируются, за поворотом будет бухта Могрен
Mogren Beach is hidden behind this cliff. – Leave the old town, walk along the beach and now along the narrow path at the foot of the mountain. – Pass the famous ballerina, with whom everyone takes photos, around the bend there will be Mogren Bay.
Opposite Budva is St. Nicholas Island, popularly known locally as Hawaii. At the foot of the cliffs of this island, with its church of the same name, are numerous beaches (–), most with large pebbles (–), but here you can easily find a secluded spot for a peaceful seaside holiday with a view of the coastline, which is packed to the brim during peak season. You can reach St. Nicholas Island by boat, which departs regularly during peak season from the Budva Marina (a roundtrip ticket costs 3 euros). Enjoy your holiday!

But Budva is famous not only for its beaches - old town of Budva, restored almost from scratch after the devastating earthquake of 1979, is once again happy to share its history with tourists. The architecture in Venetian style is a trace of the centuries-old rule of the Venetian Republic in this part of the Montenegrin coast. Absolutely free of charge, you can walk around the walls of the old city of Budva - several viewing platforms and panoramic views from the city walls to the pier and the open sea - be sure to include a walk along the city walls in your holiday program in Budva. The entrance to the Citadel Museum - in the old town from the sea - is paid (3 euros per person), but it is worth a visit - on the walls of this part of the defensive fortress you will see the famous image of two fish - this is a traditional symbol of Budva. According to legend, Budva was founded by Cadmius, and in other historical evidence of the 6th century, Budva is mentioned as an important Greek settlement as early as 500 BC! Throughout its turbulent history, the city has seen the Romans, and the Turks, and the Venetians, and the Austro-Hungarians, who kept the city in occupation until the end of the First World War, after which it became part of Serbia.

How do we recommend seeing the old town of Budva? Just get lost in its narrow labyrinth-like streets, drink coffee in one of the many city restaurants, watching strangers pass by, and move to the sound of the surf - leaving the small gates of the old city directly to the beach of Richard's Head - do not miss the opportunity to sit in one of the restaurants right on the beach, enjoying the indescribable views of the sunset. In summer, a summer festival takes place in Budva, the sounds of live music spread through the streets of the old city, unknown faces in carnival masks rush past, and general fun and an atmosphere of relaxation, happiness and carelessness reign in the air.

HOW TO GET TO BUDVA

Budva is easily accessible by bus from almost anywhere in the country (approx. 5 euros). You can also use the services of taxi drivers who "attack" you upon arrival at the airport Tivat or Podgorica. The cost of a trip from Tivat will be within 20 euros (approx. 25 km along the Adriatic highway). Those who do not want to depend on the whims of airport taxi drivers can use the transfer services from private companies by ordering a meeting and delivery to the destination in advance. The cost of the transfer will be slightly higher, but it will more than pay for the saved time and nerves. If you are planning to rent a car in Montenegro, you can order the delivery of a car directly to the airport by the time of your flight, saving on a transfer / taxi (a road map of Montenegro and a map for the navigator can be downloaded here).
