We are receiving more and more inquiries about immigration. All stages of this process and the necessary documents for obtaining a residence permit are described here - Immigration to Montenegro.
It seems that the interest of Russians in Montenegro is waking up again after a strong recession from the economic crisis. Before the crisis, it was the Russians who staged the "Montenegrin boom", gave this country a good kick on the path to development, when real estate was sold for big money, new objects grew like mushrooms, cafes and restaurants opened. After all, 7 years ago, Montenegro was just a holiday village for Serbian citizens who came here for the summer. There were no shops, well, except for butchers and bakeries; for clothes and equipment it was necessary to go to Serbia. Cities like Tivat, Bar, Ulcinj, yes and Budva to some extent, were only villages, or at best settlements.
Now Montenegro is changing before our eyes. However, I would like to believe that this transformation will be “in moderation” and many natural beauties of this country will not suffer from total development.
Returning to the issue of immigration, I would also like to add that now is the best time to do this, before Montenegro joined the EU. Rumor has it that as soon as Croatia joins the EU, Montenegro will immediately follow… And Croatia will join the EU, if everything goes well, on July 1, 2013.
