We're receiving more and more inquiries about immigration. All stages of the process and the required documents for obtaining a residence permit are described here – Immigration to Montenegro.

It feels like Russians' interest in Montenegro is reawakening after a sharp decline due to the economic crisis. Before the crisis, it was Russians who sparked the "Montenegrin boom," giving the country a major boost on the road to development, with real estate selling for exorbitant prices, new developments springing up like mushrooms, and cafes and restaurants opening. After all, just seven years ago, Montenegro was simply a summer retreat for Serbian citizens. There were no shops here, well, except for butchers and bakeries; for clothing and electronics, you had to go to Serbia. Cities like Tivat, Bar, Ulcinj, yes and Budva to some extent, were only villages, or at best settlements.
Montenegro is currently being transformed before our eyes. However, we would like to believe that this transformation will be "moderate" and that the country's many natural beauties will not be harmed by widespread development.
Returning to the issue of immigration, I would also like to add that now is the best time to do this, before Montenegro joined the EU. Rumor has it that as soon as Croatia joins the EU, Montenegro will immediately follow… And Croatia will join the EU, if everything goes well, on July 1, 2013.
