Hello to all readers of my blog! Sorry for the long silence - too much work has piled on 🙁

I hasten to tell you about where we went and where we were last week ..

Over the weekend, we took friends on a trip to Lake Skadar – everyone absolutely loved it! We left early and arrived first in Rijeka Crnojevića, where we had a good friend named Ludmila, who runs the Konak Perionik restaurant, which serves traditional cuisine. This restaurant has a history of about 300 years, and once served as a refuge for the prince's retinue, as Ludmila kindly told us. She also arranged a boat ride on the lake for us – a private boat – 3 hours for only 50 euros! While our lunch was being prepared, Ludmila recommended a stroll along the Obod River and suggested a spot for a swim. The river flows down from the mountains and is cold, but she said there's a small pool where the water is warmer! Along the way, we saw old watermills – very educational. We don't think we ever found the warm pool, so we ended up soaking our feet in the mountain river. The sun was so hot that the water dried up instantly.

After walking and getting hungry, we returned to Lyudmila, where a real feast of baked trout, fish soup (the locals call it “ribley chorba”), classic cevapi, eel risotto and homemade wine awaited us! I note that each dish cost only 6 euros! I offer photos for gourmets:

Mind-blowing “ribli chorba” :)

Historical reference: the town of Rijek Crnojevic is located in the mountains and for several years served as the residence of Ivan Crnojevic, the ruler of Montenegro in the 16th century, it was here that the first book in Montenegro was printed. Rijeka Tsrrnojevića is located in an area of amazing beauty, but now it comes to life only during the tourist season. After the devastating earthquake in Montenegro in 1979, many houses were destroyed, and local residents were given apartments in Podgorica, where they remained.

And here is the famous ancient bridge, an image of which can now be seen on the label of the famous Montenegrin wine Vranac, produced by the Plantaze company.
