So, let's continue our introduction to the Montenegrin/Serbian language. Incidentally, the precise name for this language is still unclear, as the local population is divided into two camps on this issue: the first camp, made up of people of Serbian descent, advocates "Serbian," while the second camp, considering themselves true Montenegrins, speaks exclusively "Montenegrin." And in conversation with the first or second group, if you use the incorrect name of the language—that is, Serbs speak Montenegrin and Montenegrins speak Serbian—they might get offended, and at the market, they'll definitely cheat you by selling you a rotten paradise. So, when talking, first find out which group your interlocutor belongs to by asking: "What's your materni ezik?" 🙂 (you already know the translation of this phrase from the first article).

So, what else do I have lying around interesting? 🙂

1. Diarrhea - "pride"; eg: “I myself am a vile girl” - means “I am a proud girl”;
2. Shargarepa – carrot; however, as soon as you travel to another city, you'll encounter the familiar "mrkva" instead of shargarepa;
3. Udovitsa – does not mean someone hanged themselves, it's just "widow";
4. Tea "Labuda" – turned out to be a completely normal herbal collection with the name “swan”;
5. I'm crooked myself – does not mean that you are crooked, but simply that you are guilty of something;
6. Chowek – person; that's probably where we get the word "dude" :) ;
7. Shame – is not a shameful “theatre” at all;
8. Budala - just a "fool" 🙂;
9. Storage – "food";
10. Crap - “lie” (If someone is screwing up, then he is cheating!);
11. Macka – cat; and "puss in boots" will be – "macach in boots";
12. Male name "Neboisha" - probably, all Neboishi are very brave and are not afraid of anything!;
13. There is a settlement between Budva and Bar "Skochidevoyka"; a legend about a girl who threw herself off the rocks because of unrequited love is associated with this place;
14. And on the road from Kotor to Herceg there is a settlement, the name of which consists of 4 consonants and should be pronounced quickly and without unnecessary inserts - "Strp";
15. We watched - "we met" (and nothing more!);
16. Cudgel - not a person who does not understand something, but just "depth";
17. Nyushka – animal face;
18. The abbreviated version of the name “Lyubitsa” sounds like this: "Buba", which, by the way, translates as “bug”;
19. Brazenly - means "quickly, sharply";
20. An unusual character met in a children's book about mice - "Kuchni bubashvabats", which means "house cockroach";
21. There is a chain of supermarkets called "Roda"; once, when our friend was making arrangements for our next meeting, she told us: “We’ll meet again at Rhoda’s,” but to us it seemed like “we’ll meet again, freaks” :)))
22. And the word “party” looks very funny – "zhurka"; I went to the zhurka, and then your wife scolds you with a frying pan all night)
